Psychic Ability
Psychic ability is within us all. Children are seemingly more prone to being psychic than adults. This is explained away by the fact that as we grow up we are conditioned to certain rules and regulations, We are taught how to logically work out problems and discard that that does not fit in with our education. As adults we question too much. Children have the ability to accept things as they are. Many of us would have had childhood friends - invisible of course. We told our parents to not walk into them and sit on them, and to set out some food for them. No? You didn't? Think again!
Ever played a game as a small child which necessitated several people to make it work? You put your dolls and teddies in a row and they became your playmates? You spoke to them and in your mind they spoke back. You were a teacher or a mum or a Sergent in the army. Does this ring any bells?
What we were all doing was Visualisation. We visualised how it would be if we were that teacher or sergent and reacted accordingly. As for the invisible friends - well that is not just visualisation - it was real - to us. Why?
If a child sits in it's room or playroom and talks away to themselves, having very indepth conversations, this is all a part of the childhood experience. They are not mad or have any psychological problems. But if you sat in your office and did this your work collegues would soon have you under investigation for abnormal behaviour.
Psychic ability starts where explanations and logic are discarded for a short period. Sometimes visions, thoughts or feelings come to us when we least expect it - cooking the dinner, stuck in a traffic jam or deeply engrossed in some piece of work. It's that time when you think of a relative you have not seem for some time and within days hear some news of them.
Exercise 1
Try and think of any times you have experienced something similar and try, if you can remember, to write down anything they may have been happening at the time - e.g. you were pregnant, you had lost a loved one, you were in the middle of arduous exams. If you can, recall your health, time of year and anything you think is significant. Then when you have several examples, compare them. Is there anything that strikes you as being a common theme?
If you are trying to unlock your psychic ability, you need to be aware of what makes it tick. Very few people have the ability to gain a psychic experience at will - though it can happen. But for most of us it is something we have to be more aware of and take notice of the circumstances surrounding the experience.
Exercise 2
Now take the examples you wrote down in the first exercise and try to explain the psychic experience away! Harder than you think. Some you may well put down to coincidence, others you will not be able to. It is important at the beginning to try and logically explain things away. Then when you cannot, you will feel more confident that the experience was psychic. Remember, psychic is a variation on the word psychosis. Teach yourself to question and endeavour to find an answer - do not assume everything that happens in due to a paranormal force. Again, remember the rules on MoonMagik - manipulation of your personal thoughts, if taken too far, is dangerous.
After this exercise, it is well worth mentioning the theory of Chaos. Yep, scientific and very deep. The very basic idea of this is that everything in the Universe has a pattern, however these patterns, though they appear to be patterns are in fact totally random and chaotic. Thus that makes the chaotic happenings patterns in their own right. And there is always the chance that one set of chaotic patterns will be exactly the same as the next, because it is so totally random!
Phew! That was heavy!
Now - in simple terms - because everything is chaotic, the balance of probabilty is that any one of us can predict something at any one time and be totally accurate. What appears to be a psychic experience may not infact be so.
So could this mean all psychic ability is part of the chaotic running of the Universe? Well let's imagine it is for the moment. Imagine that all those things you thought were odd we just patterns of chaos being thrown around. OK, we accept that - so why are certain age groups and people more prone to it than others? And does this mean that there could infact be other dimentions where people who have passed over are residing? Or is our brain such a complex organ that it can in fact lead us to "imagine" other dimentions and attempt to logically process the information into neat boxes? By this I mean, we are all aware of ghosts and ESP and De Ja Vous - and we know what classifies these things. Because we know about it - does our brain immediately put these experiences into little files labeled, "Ghost", "ESP", etc?
In truth we will probably never know. Understanding how a brain works is as much an enigma to humans as what is beyond space. Let me give you an example to clarify this.
I have always had a question I have put to people that seems to fox everyone. I don't do it to be smart - I ask it because it puzzles me. In our Universe everything has to be somewhere to exist. It is either on, under, around, above, below, inside or outside of something else to exist. If this is so - then what is Space? To exist it must surely follow one of the universal rules? It must be on, in, under, over, around, above, or below something else. Because it has to be to somewhere exist. And, if as the scientists claim, Space is a ring donut shape - then what is in the hole in the center and what surrounds it to give it a ring shape?
We may appear to have digressed a bit, but to bring this back to psychic ability - no-one can really define it. Some of us have it and some appear to have lost it. No-one can disprove that these things that we class as "Paranormal" are not infact quite normal things. Energy is something everything does have. When, in science you appear to destroy something, you do not - it just changes it's form. That goes for living creatures too. We all have personal energy and I have yet to read anything in science or otherwise that can prove to me that when a person or animal dies - that's it - no more - everything gone - just like switching off a light. The energy disperses and it depends on the circumstances at the time of death as to how great that energy force is.
To bring this full circle, I remember a true story of a young boy in Brazil who kept dreaming of his grandfather who had died some years previously. The grandfather had hidden something away which needed to be found to help the family. In time the small boy made a new friend. This friend insisted that he was the boys' grandfather and knew where the item that needed to be found was hidden. The item was many miles away and it was proven that the small boy had never been to the place he kept saying the item was. The item was found exactly where the small boy said.
How could he have known?
What you must do is be open-minded. A good philosophy is "the impossible can and will happen". Psychic ability is not an artform - it is within us all - we just have to let it shine through. This means not brushing things aside that seem illogical, ignoring warnings or messages in dreams, etc. Most people do not believe in ghosts because they just can't happen. They like tangible evidence and would only believe if they saw one for real. Perhaps then they would even try to explain it away. The Paramornal and being psychic is 99% of the time improbable, intangible and illogical. You have to decide if you are ready to open your mind freely as a child does, to understand and recieve such experiences willingly.
Please feel free to mail me if you have any questions about this page. I do realise it may seem a bit heavy, but it is vital to accept that any points made on here could be the truth behind our psychic abilities, before you can learn more about the subject.
